Ennis Oregon Trail: Grand Tetons National Park

“Rest” Day – Grand Tetons National Park
Miles: n/a
Hours: n/a
Things of Interest: Mountains, lakes, barns

Another “rest” day with a bit of sleeping in again was much needed. Today we spent our day in and around the Grand Tetons.

Starting the day at Mormon Row despite a bit of misty weather, we were able to take some decent pictures of the iconic barns.

Quick pbj lunch before hiking around String Lake (probably one of my favoriite lakes I’ve seen in a long time — such beautiful turquoise water) and a stopover at Jenny Lake. Jenny Lake is the famous one, but we both liked String better. Much quieter and peaceful.

To round out the day, we headed back to Mormon Row since the sun had come out to grab a couple more pictures of the barns.

Dinner at a local place on the Idaho who boasted the best burgers — delightful end to our rest days before we were back on the road.
