Walking, walking, and more walking

What did we see today?

-Washington Monument
-National Mall
-Capitol Hill
-Space and Air Museum
-Library of Congress
-Botanical Gardens
-IRS Building
-Department of Ag
-Department of Justice
-American Indian Museum
-Museum of Natural History
-Hope Diamond
-Probably plenty more than that…

What did we experience?
-Subway (underneath the river)
-2012 Library of Congress National Book Festival
-Fiesta DC
-Eating from a Hotdog Stand

Needless to say, our feet/ankles/legs/shins are screaming tonight! So we just ate at one of restaurants at the hotel, and now we are relaxing. Hopefully we can rest enough tonight and keep up the motivation tonight.

We also were moved to a better hotel room tonight with a phenomenal view of DC… what’s even better is we extended our stay one more night (which we were planning already when we got here), but they honored our price which saved us about $150. So a much much better room for the same price. Yeah… I’m okay with that. Until tomorrow…

Picture 1:  A fountain we found that was tucked away near the National Mall

Picture 2:  This plant was cool… it’s a Pitcher Plant (Kind of like a Venus Fly Trap)

Picture 3:  The Orchid Room at the National Botanical gardens.  The flowers were absolutely beautiful, and it smelled phenomenal!

Hello! I’m Jessica, the voice behind Wandering with Mr. and Mrs. Ennis. My husband and I are off-the-beaten-path travellers who approach life with curiosity, compassion, and above all, kindness. Through our stories of adventures (and occasional misadventures!), we hope others are encouraged to explore beyond the tourist guidebooks and take the road less travelled.
